Membership
We are a guild of approximately 40 members who hail from several counties surrounding Shelbyville, Kentucky. Our annual membership dues of $28.00 are collected in July. We meet at the Shelby County Extension Office on the 4th Monday of each month (except May when we meet on the 3rd Monday and December when we don't meet). Our meetings are followed by a "Sit and Sew" where we either work on group projects or projects of our own. We have a retreat scheduled each fall at Country Lakes Christian Retreat Center, Underwood, Indiana. Recently we have held one-day retreats at the Extension Office in Shelbyville and at Ascension Lutheran Church in Louisville. In the past, we have traveled to the quilt shows in Bloomington, Indiana; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Paducah, Kentucky.
Purpose
- To promote interest in preserving the tradition, culture, and history of quilting and to promote appreciation of quilting as an art form.
