President Terryl Allen called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. A total of 30 people were in attendance.

Concerns of Members: Barb Morgan’s Daughter Lori is still in pain and Barbara is having surgery on Monday.
Nancy Wiseman is doing better and was at the meeting.
Barbara Payne’s mother had a heart attack last week and Barbara is taking care of her. She is at Oak Lawn at this time.
Announcements: Lynnette read a thank you from Hosparus thanking us for the 21 quilts we donated. A family who received a quilt, no name given. Members are also invited to attend Hosparus' Volunteer Recognition Dinner on September 6. More info will follow. And they asked if we would be willing to make patriotic quilts to honor their other 6 Veteran Volunteers to be awarded at the dinner. She will also be receiving funding for our batting in the future. We had 8 Project of the Month finished this month.
Jane O’Roark’s daughter let us know about a trunk show she is having at The Cozy Quilter April 24, 2018 and she brought in some information on the Quilt Alliance.
Jane Adolf is putting together a group this coming Sunday to go to the Speed Museum. There is a $5 charge for the exhibit they will be seeing.
May 12th there will be three different garden sales, one is in Shelbyville, one is the Iris Sale and the other is the Rample garden sale.
Terryl gave a great demo on John Flynn diagonal quilt back method (a pdf is attached)
Old Business: Please take over the website! We are in need of someone to step up and take over the website from Suzy Wood. She will no longer do this as of June.
New Business: We had by-laws changes, Terryl read them to the members. There was a motion to approve by Jane O’Roark, a second by Bev Weis and approved by the members unanimously.
Our next meeting will be on the 3rd Monday May 21, 2018

We are having a May retreat at the Extension Office, if you were not at the meeting today and want to come please contact Susie. This is on May 14, 2018. The sheet sent around last month was lost and we have a new one. If you want lunch please let us know ASAP and send a check to Barbara Payne today (1833 Aiken Rd, Shelbyville Ky 40065) or if you did not pay today please send check today. Please bring your own drinks for the day.
She is looking for a place to have another one in July at the South Central Library in Louisville
September Retreat (Suzy Wood)
September 11-13, Tuesday -Thursday. Check in is @10am and check out is @ 11am (we don’t have to depart until 5pm). Applications will be accepted in July and August. Tuesday= lunch & dinner, Wednesday= breakfast, lunch and dinner, Thursday= breakfast & lunch You must be a member to get the first sign ups. We are limiting this year to 22 people and the price is $221.50 for a single and $176.50 for a double

The guild challenge has been moved to May, so if you did not sign up because you would not be here for April you can still do the challenge. Just contact Denise or Lynn, Thanks
May is Guild Member Yard Sale and Trader’s Dice Challenge Project is due.

Secretary’s Report (Lynn Martin):
· Minutes for the March Cover Lovers meeting were distributed via e-mail April 3, 2018 and were mailed to non-email members with this month’s meeting reminder on April 18, 2018.
Hug Quilts Report (Lynnette LeGette):
· A total of 3 hug quilts were turned in to Hosparus in the month of April.
· Reminder: The size of hug quilts should average 40” x 60”. Quilt tops turned in to Joyce Hameloth or Linda Sanford for quilting should have a backing 8” wider and 8” longer than the top and pieced together. The binding committee requests that the binding be cut 2 ½” wide and pieced.
