November 2019
Jane Adolf, one of our guild members, showed the rest of us how to make fabric postcards. She brought along supplies, and scraps from her stash, for members to use in making their own personalized postcards. She also showed how the same technique can be used to make gift tags. Everyone enjoyed themselves and found inspiration for a future project!
October 2019
Another popular program we've had for the past few years is a Members' Yard Sale. Members go through their stash of fabrics, patterns, tools, notions, etc., and bring them in to sell to their friends. All proceeds go to the individual sellers, and everyone finds something they just have to add to their own stash!
September 2019
A popular program with our members for the past few years as been Round Table Demos. Four or five members volunteer to show a technique or talk about aspects of quilting and the rest of the members divide into groups and go from table to table Round Robin fashion to see these techniques.
This year our demos were: Attaching a sleeve for hanging your quilt, Making a scalloped border - no ruler needed, Organizing Tips, and Making a Folded Star ornament. Everyone had a good time and learned a lot!

August 2019
This month we asked members to bring in their first quilt, their favorite quilt, or the one they wish they'd entered in the State Fair. A few members brought in their favorites, most of which they had entered in the Fair - sometimes even winning ribbons on them. It was fun to hear their stories of why these quilts were their favorites!
July 2019
In July, we played a game of "Quilters' Strip Poker". We each brought a dozen 2 1/2" x WOF strips and got down to the business of exchanging them. So much fun was had by all that no pictures were taken!
June 2019
Members of our guild gave the presentation "Quilting on Your Home Machine" with lessons on layering, basting and marking your quilt, using free motion to quilt easy curves and designs, straight line quilting using a walking foot, using design elements in the fabric to inspire quilting, and quilting larger quilts in smaller sections that are then sewn together. Many questions were asked, and answered, and everyone was excited to give it a try!
May 2019
Chuck & Amber of Results Physiotherapy came and gave us pointers on how to keep moving so that we can keep sewing for a long time to come. Many helpful ideas were given, and a lively discussion ensued. We all learned a lot!
April 2019
Kelley Pruitt came up from Elizabethtown to teach our guild members how to make a Project Bag with a vinyl front, so vital when you want to know what's in the bag! Several members brought their sewing machines, and learned techniques for sewing on vinyl and inserting zippers. Lots of fun was had, and there were lots of pretty project bags made by the end of the day!
In May everyone who made a bag brought them for show and tell. Quite a variety of colors were seen!
March 2019
Jane Adolf, one of our guild members, gave a presentation on backings, and some different ways you can 'jazz them up'. She had some great ideas and everyone enjoyed the presentation!
February 2019
In February we played Quilters Bingo as presented by Fons and Porter on The Quilting Company website. No pictures were taken, but everyone had fun and prizes were won by several members.
January 2019
Nadine Cox was kind enough to step forward and give the KHQS President's Challenge Presentation when Donna Duncan was unable to do so. Nadine is a new member of our guild, and did a wonderful job with the presentation. Everyone enjoyed seeing the quilts, and a few pictures are below.
